June 7 – August 25, 2018  “The Chilkoot Trail” solo exhibition, a series of oil paintings and drawings that encompass the entire trail.

December 2017 – January 2018  Artist in Residence at Ted Harrison Cabin at Crag Lake, Yukon.

December 2015  “Magic Under the Northern Lights” 2nd commissioned piece for the Yukon Lotteries Commission, 45″ x 45″ stained glass mosaic.

March 2015  “Keeping Hope Alive” commissioned piece for Yukon Lotteries 45″ x 45″ stained glass mosaic.

July/August 2014  Artist-in-Residence on the Chilkoot Trail, 2 weeks camping and hiking the trail doing Plein Air sketches all along the way and giving two watercolour workshops at Sheep Camp and Lindeman Lake campsites.

August 2013  “Day on the Dunes” exhibition at The Wolf Den Gallery, Carcross, sow of all participating artists work that they accomplished at the Plein Air Event.

July 2012  “Plein Air Festival” painting at a different site every day Monday to Friday, culminating with a show at YAAW gallery on the Friday night.

January 2012  “Somewhere Near Here”, solo show at “The Bistro” Yukon College a series of 12 oil on canvas paintings.

August 2011  Commission for the City of Whitehorse, Installation of “The Whitehorse Horse” metal sculpture made from donations of metal from Yukoners.

October 2010  Commission for the town of Carcross, Waterfront Project, Installation of the Sign for Carcross, “The Carcross Caribou” Caribou made mostly with WP&YR recycled metal.

2000 – 2011 Hosted and organized Annual Atlin Art Retreat, a casual fun art filled weekend at the end of April doing a variety of workshops and involving other guest artists.

1997 – 2008 Taught basic drawing, more advanced drawing courses, which included drawing therapy. Have also instructed acrylic and oil painting courses. These courses have taken place in Whitehorse, Carcross, Mt. Lorne and Atlin BC

Biography for Daphne Mennell,

2002 – 2003 Involved with a “Healing Retreat” in Carcross through the Yukon College campus, giving an art therapy session. Also involved in teaching drawing and introductory soapstone carving courses.

2001 – 2004 Participant in Cranberry Fair

2001 Taught various drawing and sketching courses through City of Whitehorse.

2000 Sponsored Artist to the Great Northern Arts Festival,

  • Commissioned to create and paint exhibit for swans for Swan Haven.
  • Contracted to paint 100 silk ties and ties for the Whitehorse Community Choir.
    • Commissioned composition for the Whitehorse Community
    • Choir entitled “the Light in the Darkness”
    • Commissioned painting “Spring” for the Arctic Winter Games Exhibition
    • Awarded grant for demo ‘Engage” exhibition in which my piece “Mountain Drama” was purchased for the Permanent Collection
